By doing this, you are loosening up your stomach muscles while moving things around gently, thus helping you with your digestion. Watch the amount of pressure applied to the abdomen until your food is digested.

Extend the benefits of your massage by taking things easy for the rest of the day. Allow your mind and body to stay in the relaxed zone by practicing deep breathing throughout the day whenever you feel the tension returning. Plan a low-key, relaxing dinner followed by a warm bath, then get into bed early and curl up for a nice, restorative night of sleep

Massaging your own shoulders can be enjoyable if you do it right. Beginning at the top of your spine, using one hand or two, use your hand to stroke from skull to shoulders. Then work your way across the shoulder outwards. Go back towards the neck and repeat the process.

If you are someone who exercises, give yourself a mini-massage both before and after you exercise so you encourage blood and oxygen into those muscles to speed up recovery. Help the blood start flowing in your extremities before you start to exercise, by taking pummeling with your fist. After you finish exercising, rub your muscles with palm or fist towards the direction of the heart.
